About me:
Hello, and welcome to my page!
My name is Robert Suhrie. I am formally a student of economics, political science, education, and mathematics. Informally I am a student of psychology, theology, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, and pretty much everything else under the sun. I am employed at Paradise High School as an instructor in mathematics, but my job is helping guide young hearts and minds on their journey toward achieving the full potential they have within them as unique individuals.
I graduated from Paradise High School in 1993. I later graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a B.A. in Economics. I am currently completing my master's degree in political science at California State University, Chico. Last but not least, I am also pursuing a teaching credential at California State University, Chico.
My primary endeavor as an educator is helping students realize and embody the true goal of education: character development. Through the study of mathematics students will challenge themselves and their assumptions about life, and will enhance their creative, cognitive, and critical-thinking development. As we encounter friction, barriers, and obstacles, we have the opportunity to grow stronger by confronting those challenges and striving to overcome them. It is by courageously engaging in this struggle that character is developed. We may not succeed the first time, but our persistence through adversity is what makes us victors.
I am honored to have the opportunity to help your child succeed in imagining and achieving their grandest goals and dreams, and most of all, discovering the potential they have to make the world a better place because of their presence in it.
